When Mark and I took a road trip to Ojai, he said it in the car. "I am having such a good time!" I heard him and knew something amazing had just happened. Mark had made a declaration, and the very making of it had magnified its truthfulness. His good time got bigger. His face grew brighter and his breaths got deeper and he settled into the seat and the day with such satisfaction. I felt giddy with delight.
So I tried it later. "I am having such a good time." And I watched Mark. In addition to all the good things I felt in saying it, I saw him receive the news in two ways. It calmed him as though he had been relieved of any responsibility of making sure I was having a good time. And he also took credit for my having a good time because it happened while I was with him. Talk about a win win win situation!!! What a surprising discovery.
I have never said anything that had a more pleasurable impact on my world. I think I'll say it now, even though I am alone. "I am having such a good time!" Hell YES this works so well. Shivers! - nitric oxide for sure!
